Refund and Cancellation Policy
This Refund and Cancellation Policy applies to all rental and purchase orders placed with Summit Yak. By confirming an order, you agree to the terms outlined below.
1. Rental Cancellations
Cancellations Before Dispatch
If a cancellation request is received before the gear is dispatched, the rental amount is eligible for refund. Any processing, handling, or courier preparation costs already incurred may be deducted. Courier charges, if already committed, are non refundable.
Cancellations After Dispatch
Once the gear has been dispatched, rental charges are non refundable. Courier charges, including forward and reverse if applicable, are non refundable. Security deposits remain refundable, subject to return and inspection of the gear.
2. Trek Date Changes and Modifications
If your trek dates change, you must inform Summit Yak as early as possible. Date changes are subject to gear availability and logistics feasibility. Additional charges may apply if the rental duration increases, delivery or pickup locations change, or courier costs are impacted. Summit Yak will make reasonable efforts to accommodate changes but cannot guarantee modifications close to dispatch dates.
3. Security Deposit Refunds
Security deposits are refundable, subject to successful return and inspection of the gear. Deposits are refunded only after the gear is returned and inspection is completed. Refund timelines may vary depending on inspection completion and payment method or banking timelines.
4. Damaged, Lost, or Unreturned Gear
Normal wear and tear is acceptable and does not affect refunds. In case of damage beyond normal wear and tear, repair or replacement costs will be deducted from the security deposit. In case of loss, theft, or non return of gear, full or partial deposit deduction may apply and additional recovery charges may be levied if the deposit does not cover the loss. Summit Yak’s assessment after inspection will be considered final and binding.
5. Early Returns and Partial Usage
No refunds are issued for early return of gear, partial usage, or unused rental days. Rental pricing is based on the reserved rental period, not actual usage.
6. Courier Delays and Force Majeure
Summit Yak is not responsible for delays caused by third party courier partners, weather conditions, natural disasters, or regional restrictions or force majeure events. Refunds or compensation are not applicable for delays beyond Summit Yak’s control.
7. CB Partner Bookings
For bookings made through Contracted Business Partners, cancellation and refund terms may vary based on partner agreements. Any special conditions will be communicated during booking or confirmation. Standard refund rules apply unless explicitly stated otherwise.
8. Merchandise Purchases
Refunds or exchanges on purchased merchandise are subject to item specific return policies. Used, damaged, or altered merchandise is not eligible for refund, unless received in defective condition.
9. Refund Method
Approved refunds are processed to the original mode of payment. Processing time may vary depending on banks or payment gateways and is beyond Summit Yak’s control.
10. Right to Decline Refunds
Summit Yak reserves the right to decline refunds in cases of policy violations, misuse or unauthorised use of gear, false or misleading claims, or failure to return gear as instructed.
11. Policy Updates
Summit Yak may update this policy from time to time. The version available on the website at the time of booking will apply.
