Summit Yak is led by a team that brings together deep mountain experience and technical apparel expertise. The company is headed by experienced mountaineering personalities who have been actively involved in Indian mountaineering for years and hold notable records and achievements in the Indian Himalayas. Their understanding of terrain, weather, and real-world gear performance shapes every decision we make.

The operational and product side of Summit Yak is driven by a National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) graduate, with over 14 years of professional experience in the apparel industry, working closely with international brands, materials, sourcing, quality control, and performance wear.

Between the leadership and the core team, hundreds of days have been spent on trails, in camps, and at altitude, testing gear across seasons and conditions.

Our Mission

At Summit Yak, gear is not sourced based on catalog claims or trends. Every item goes through:

  • Detailed internal discussions on use case and conditions
  • Field testing by experienced trekkers and mountaineers
  • Evaluation of comfort, durability, performance, and safety
  • Assessment of suitability for repeated rental use

Only after meeting all functional and quality requirements is a product approved for rental. If a piece of equipment does not perform reliably in the mountains, it does not make it into our inventory, no matter the brand or price point.
